Real Madrid want Florian Wirtz to replace Luka Modric

Real Madrid have reportedly identified Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz as an ideal replacement for Luka Modric.

The Madrid giants have set their sights on signing the 21-year-old, but will take their time to begin the process of getting a deal done, as per AS.

However, they realize that Bayern Munich are also eyeing the youngster, who prefers to remain in Germany, according to previous reports. 

Meanwhile, Leverkusen are also working on extending Wirtz's deal which expires in the summer of 2027.

The attacking midfielder has six goals one assist in ten matches for the reigning Bundesliga champions this season.
