Real Madrid have shown interest in Chelsea captain Reece James, as a potential long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, according to HITC.

The European champions were constantly linked with the England international, however, fitness issues remain a concern for the right-back.

The 24-year-old is yet to feature for the Blues this season, as he is currently recovering from a recurring hamstring injury.

James' deal at Chelsea runs until the summer of 2028.

His market value dropped significantly from €70 million in 2022 to €40m in 2024, as per Transfermarkt.
