Real Madrid have begun their quest to bring in Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, as reported by Okidiario.
The Madrid giants contacted the German club to evaluate the Spaniard's situation.
Los Blancos's current manager Carlo Ancelotti is spending the final months of his deal, and club president Florentino Perez has identified Xabi as a priority replacement.
Perez plans to maintain good relations with Leverkusen and has therefore informed them about his plans for next season.
Although Xabi's contract at the BayArena runs until the summer of 2026, the Bundesliga side understands they could lose their manager soon.
