Pizzi Set to Leave Saudi After Asian Cup Exit

Saudi Arabia coach Juan Antonio Pizzi expects to leave his position after his team was eliminated from the Asian Cup against Japan on Monday.

“My job with the national team is done, nobody talked with me about renewing my contract,” media reports quoted the 50-year-old Argentine as saying.

“I still don’t know anything about my next challenge.”

Pizzi led Saudi Arabia in a disappointing 2018 World Cup in Russia and saw his team’s Asian Cup campaign end in a 1-0 loss to Japan in Sharjah. He most notably led Chile to victory in the 2016 Copa America.
