Burnley has officially signed Tunisian midfielder Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United on a four-year deal.

The 21-year-old never managed to become a key player for the Red Devils since his promotion to the first team in 2019.

He scored once for United in 13 appearances.

Burnley paid a reported fee £5.4m for the youngster, potentially rising to £9.4m in add-ons.

Hannibal had loan spells in the past at Sevilla and Birmingham.

The Tunisia international said following the move: “I’m very excited. I'm very happy to be here, and I can’t wait to see the fans. I have played against Burnley before at Turf Moor and the atmosphere was amazing.

“After speaking to the coach (Scott Parker) the project sounded good to me, and hopefully we can make success.”
