hand-picked successor and outgoing Everton boss David Moyes is reportedly planning a 40 million-pound double raid on his current side for the next season following his taking over the Premier League champions as manager after Ferguson's retirement.
According to the Mirror, Moyes wants to make Marouane Fellaini his first signing for Manchester United as the replacement of troubled United striker Wayne Rooney, adding that he also wants to sign left-back Leighton Baines from his current employers, in a 40 million-pound double raid.
The report further said that midfielder-plus striker Fellaini has a 23 million-pound buy-out clause in his contract, adding that Everton is already prepared for his departure this summer.
The report also mentioned that while Ferguson had considered a move for Baines last summer, the purported arrival of his fellow Glaswegian at the new champions will see a 17 million-pound bid lodged for the England full-back.
According to the report, Moyes is also ready to ship Rooney, whom he managed at Everton, out of Old Trafford for 25 million pounds following the striker's request to Ferguson last month to let him leave at the end of the current campaign.
Moyes, who was confirmed as Ferguson's successor on a six-year deal worth 36 million pounds, was also the unanimous choice of the new champions' board to succeed his fellow Scot, whose final game in charge will be at West Bromwich Albion a week on Sunday, the report added. (ANI)
