Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is facing criticism for skipping France's upcoming Nations League games while being available to play for the Spanish giants.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star sustained an injury last month that he was able to overcome in recent days.
He even took park in Los Blancos' Champions League loss to Lille, before staring the game against Villarreal in LaLiga on Saturday.
Despite his availability, France boss Didier Deschamps opted to leave the striker out of the squad he announced on Thursday, to give the the 25-year-old a much-needed rest.
However, former France international Maxime Bossis had other thoughts, as he told L’Equipe on Monday: “Either you’re injured, and you don’t play with your club and you’re not called up in the national team,” .
“But when you come off the bench in the Champions League and you start a league game, it makes things fuzzy. He’s a special player. We’ve known that with Michel Platini, when we still wanted him with us when he was injured.”
