Manchester City have completed the signing of Egypt forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League champions in a deal valued at £59.1 million, with an additional £4.2 million in potential add-ons.
Marmoush becomes City’s third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis earlier this week.

“I will never forget this day,” Marmoush said. “Signing for Manchester City – one of the best teams in the world – feels amazing. I’m absolutely thrilled, my family is incredibly proud, and we are all excited to be here in Manchester.”
Versatile in attack, Marmoush has scored 37 goals in 67 appearances since joining Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. His career began at Wadi Degla in the Egyptian Premier League, before moving to Germany with Wolfsburg in 2020. He later had loan spells at St. Pauli and Stuttgart.
The forward has earned 35 caps for Egypt, scoring six goals for his national team.
Marmoush’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium comes as Manchester City look to rebuild following a challenging season. The club, who have won the Premier League for the last four years, currently sit fifth in the league, 12 points behind leaders Liverpool with a game in hand. A recent defeat to Paris Saint-Germain also left Pep Guardiola’s side facing the risk of missing out on the Champions League knockout stages.
“Under Pep, his technical staff, and the world-class facilities here, players have everything they need to improve,” Marmoush added. “This was a major factor for me when I had the chance to join. And I can’t deny that I want to win trophies. Manchester City has been the most successful club in England for many years, so I know I’m joining a winning environment and a winning culture.”
“I’m really looking forward to getting started, meeting the other players, and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do.”
With this move, City’s spending in January has now reached £122.5 million.
City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, said: “Omar is an exciting and talented forward, and I’m delighted he’s joining us. He possesses all the qualities of a top-class attacker, and I have no doubt that working with Pep and the technical staff at City will see him further develop his exceptional attacking ability.”
