Manchester United are ready to fight Real Madrid for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, according to Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg.

The Canada international is set to become a free agent next summer, and he has been constantly linked with a move to Spain.

However, it appears that the Red Devils are now eyeing the 23-year-old as well.

Davies is yet to discuss a new deal with Bayern, which means that he will be able to negotiate a transfer starting from January.

Luke Shaw's repeated injuries are pushing United to bring in a new left-back, and the club is now exploring the idea of signing the young star.

The Canadian has made eight appearances this season thus far across all competitions with the Bavarian giants.
