Manchester City and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure has seen off competition from the likes of Didier Drogba and Alexander Song to win the coveted African Player of the Year award for second time in a row.

The 29-year-old, who helped guide Manchester City to the English Premier League title last season, enjoyed a stunning year with the club.

The Ivorian, who overcame fellow countryman Drogba and Cameroon's Song, was obviously touched after being confirmed as the winner.

"I have a lot of emotion," CNN.com quoted Toure, as saying.

"I think this night is so special for me," he added. (ANI)
