Manchester City are planning a move for Real Sociedad's defensive midfielder Martin Zubimendi, according to Spanish Publication Relevo.

The Premier League giants ready to enter the January market as they seek cover for the injured Rodri.

Rodri was ruled out for the season through injury, and now City are hoping to take advantage of Zubimendi's £50.3 million release clause at Sociedad.

The 25-year-old is yet to sign a new deal with the Basque club, although his current contract runs until the summer of 2027.

He has nine goals and seven assists in 198 competitive appearances for Real Sociedad across all tournaments.
