Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has sent a rallying cry to his squad players to be prepared to play for the remaining games of the Premier League even with small injuries, before the January transfer window.

Rodgers had expressed disappointment at missing out on Clint Dempsey, which has left him with two senior strikers, and says his players may have to play with minor knocks.

"We're in a position where we've got 25 games minimum between now and January so we're going to be stretched to the limit," said the Daily Mirror quoted Rodgers, as saying..

"I've spoken to the players and if they get little niggles or injuries, they have to man up. They have got to come together and be strong," he added.

The club has been boosted by the news that Joe Cole and Oussama Assaidi should return from injury after the international break.

Rodgers claims his lack of forwards is an opportunity for youngsters like Suso to shine and Raheem Sterling has already grabbed his chance. (ANI)
