Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he postponed informing his parents of his decision to join Ferrari until the day of the announcement.
The Brit shocked the F1 when he announced that he will be leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari from 2025.
His move to the Italian giants will take place when new F1 technical regulations are set to be introduced in 2026.
"I didn't speak to anybody. I didn't tell my parents till the day of it being announced. So, no one knew,” Hamilton told BBC 5.
"I really wanted to do it for myself. Ultimately, I had to find out what would be the best for me."
Given his current age, the 39-year-old will likely end his illustrious career with his new team.
