Former Barcelona star Michael Laudrup believes that Lamine Yamal's talent must be handled with care.

The 16 year-old has become a key player for Xavi Hernandez at Barca this season.

He has also represented Spain on the international level despite his young age.

However, Laudrup has warned Barcelona over mishandling Yamal.

He said as quoted by Tribal Football: "He is very young and has incredible individual qualities. He also doesn't let himself be unsettled when he plays at this level.

"He has many qualities, is well integrated with the rest of the team and has extraordinary one-on-one numbers. But, having said that, we must be careful in proclaiming him one of the best in the world because he is only 16 years old; we had the example of Ansu Fati, who unfortunately got injured and never reached his level again.

"These young players must be allowed to mature slowly."

Yamal's current deal with Barcelona runs until next summer.
