Kei Nishikori successfully defended his Barcelona Open title with a convincing straight sets win over his Spanish opponent Pablo Andujar on Sunday.
The fifth-ranked Japanese produced a stout display as he broke straight back in both sets to eventually claim a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 win over Andujar.
Reflecting on his performance, Nishikori said that he was very happy and it was one of the best tournaments so far this year, adding that he had always loved playing there, the BBC reported.
Nishikori, who claimed his ninth ATP World Tour title following the
win, added that he hoped he could come back next year.
