Hull City and Arsenal face off against one another this afternoon in the English Premier League in a match that is massive for Arsenal in terms of trying to maintain their place in the top four, but is also a crucial match for Hull as they prepare for the Gunners in next month’s FA Cup Final.
Steve Bruce has done one heck of a job with Hull City but they could use a few more points to guarantee their place in the top flight for next year and a victory over their visitors would mean a lot in terms of both the league and their coming final in terms of the side’s morale.
Arsene Wenger needs to maintain Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League place for next season as a drop to the UEFA Europa League will not be one that they will want to make and could hurt them this summer in the transfer market.
Hull will want to all but guarantee their place in the top flight for next season and having taking points against some top opposition at the KC Stadium this season already they have the ability to pull one over on the Gunners if they start well and can withstand the assured Arsenal pressure.
Robby Brady and Allan McGregor both will miss the match for Hull due to injury while Arsenal’s injury list still remains lengthy but they should be boosted by the return of Mesut Ozil to the first team.
Hull XI: Harper: Rosenior, Chester, Davies, Figueroa; Elmohamady, Livermore, Huddlestone, Meyler; Jelavic, Long.
Arsenal XI: Szczesny: Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen; Arteta, Flamini; Ramsey, Cazorla, Podolski; Giroud.
