Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola revealed reason behind Ederson's stay, despite reports linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer.
The Spanish coach said, as quoted by Goal: "We didn't want Ederson to leave in the summer. A real offer didn't come... well, they've made an offer but the keeper for the team who won four Premier Leagues in a row has a price. Otherwise, he can't leave! And that's what basically happened."
It was reported in July that the Brazil international had agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr.
However, the Riyadh-based club never began official negotiations with the Cityzens, which meant that the 31-year-old was staying put.
The goalkeeper's deal at City expires in 2026, and he is currently valued at €35 million, as per Transfermarkt.
