Wilfried Bony took part in his first Manchester City training session on Monday following a short delay due to a visa issue.

The 26-year-old joined Manuel Pellegrini's team from Swansea City in January for a fee of approximately €35 million, before winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast.

Goal has now learned Bony was unable to immediately take part in City's training sessions as he was waiting on a UK visa upgrade, due because of a switch in employers.

With that issue solved, Bony took part in Monday morning training and was given a tour of the club's Etihad campus by international team-mate Yaya Toure and captain Vincent Kompany, before meeting Pellegrini.

Bony replaced Steven Jovetic in City's Champions League squad and although their home tie with Barcelona isn't until next Tuesday, he is expected to be available for the visit of Newcastle United this Saturday.

Likewise, Yaya Toure also returned to first-team training, albeit a few days earlier than Bony, with the club welcoming him back from international duty last Thursday.
