Zamalek are considering an offer from Swiss club FC Basel to land their midfielder Omar Gaber, Egyptian media reported on Sunday.
"We haven't accepted or rejected Basel's offer for Gaber yet," Zamalek football director and spokesman Ismael Youssef was quoted as saying by local media.
Although there has been no confirmation from the two clubs, many reports suggested that Zamalek have already accepted Basel's offer in principle.
Winger Ahmed Hamoudi, who is on loan from Basel to Zamalek, might be part of a possible exchange deal that will see him stay at the Swiss club on a permanent basis.
The 23-year-old player Gaber is a popular key player in Zamalek's squad. He is a three-time Egypt Cup winner, and a one-time Egyptian Premier League holder with the club.
Gaber, a versatile midfielder who also plays as a right-back has been a key player in the Egyptian national team since 2011.
