Barcelona confirmed on Monday that their star player Lamine Yamal will be out of action for up to three weeks.

The 17-year-old did not take part in Barca's unexpected 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad in LaLiga yesterday.

An official statement revealed that the winger had suffered a sprain in his right ankle.

It read: "Tests this morning confirmed that first team player Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 high right ankle sprain. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks.

Barcelona also announced that their top goal scorer Robert Lewandowski has also succumbed to an injury, and will be facing a period of ten days on the sidelines.

The same statement continued: "Lewandowski has suffered a lower back injury. He will be out of action for approximately 10 days."
