King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received yesterday at Sakhir Palace Fifa president Gianni Infantino, who is on a visit to the country.
His Majesty’s representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was present.
The King praised the Fifa president’s efforts to develop football, the world’s most popular game. He also lauded the cooperation between Bahrain Football Association and Fifa, noting the kingdom’s achievements at the continental and global levels.
His Majesty highlighted Bahrain’s support for all sport activities and wished the Fifa World Cup, to be held in Russia next month, success.
The Fifa president welcomed His Majesty’s keenness to promote sports cooperation between Bahrain and the international football federation, praising the continuous development witnessed by the Bahrain in football as well as other sports.
