The decision by the U.S. president to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has sparked fierce backlash from Palestinians, Arabs and the Muslim world. Protests continue in the West Bank, with Israeli soldiers reported to have shot several protestors. At least four Palestinian protestors are reported to have been killed so far. U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem has caused serious backlash in the Arab and Muslim world. Protests have taken place outside U.S. embassies in Lebanon, Jordan and elsewhere, with thousands taking to the streets to express their upset at the decision. President Trump's decision has led to fresh Israeli strikes on Gaza, the deaths of Palestinian protesters, and the attempted storming of the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon.

Libya has been the focus of much media scrutiny recently after stories of modern-day slavery came to the attention of the world. In the wake of the horrific news, African and European leaders agreed on a plan to evacuate those migrants stuck in Libyan detention centers and camps. One of those detention centers is Qanfouda, in southern Benghazi. Here, migrants are waiting to be repatriated.

Comic Con Arabia took place this weekend in Riyadh’s International Exhibition Center, more than 50 years after the first ever such event brought together comic fans in New York back in 1964. Saudi fans had the opportunity to dress up as characters, with the winners of the cosplay recieving cash prizes worth nearly $2,000. International celebrity guests also arrived in Saudi Arabia for the event, including Game of Thrones star Pilou Asbæk. See the event in pictures, below:
