The Valley of the Kings also known as the 'Valley of the Gates of the Kings' is located in Egypt where, and dated between the period of the 16th to 11th century BC. With the 2005 discovery of a new chamber and the 2008 discovery of two further tomb entrances, the valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers. The royal tombs are decorated with scenes from Egyptian mythology and give clues as to the beliefs and funerary rituals of the period.

The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city for Muslims, and a mandatory religious duty for all adult Muslims which must be carried out at least once in their lifetime. At the first day, the pilgrims are reminded of their duties. The ritual of 'Tawaf' involves walking seven times counterclockwise around the Kaaba and each circuit starts, with the kissing or touching of the Black Stone. The completion of Tawaf is followed by two Rakaat prayers at the Place of Abraham.
