Tunisian police detained over 1,000 protesters as troops were deployed across the country ahead of violent riots for three nights in cities throughout Tunisia.

“We came in the daytime”; protesters chanted, on Monday January 18th during a gathering in central Tunis. The Interior Ministry said legitimate demonstrations didn't take place night.

It revealed on Sunday 632 people were taken to jail, mainly “groups of people between the ages of 15 and 20 who burned tires and bins in order to block movements by the security forces.”
