ALBAWABA - A young man tried to light himself on fire in front of the Moroccan Parliament in Rabat on Saturday night, creating a spectacular scene. The horrifying incident stunned the public and instantly went viral on social media.

The incident happened while a group of attorneys were leaving the premises, according to eyewitnesses. The individual had drenched himself with a volatile material, and one of the attorneys moved quickly to put out the flames by using his jacket. The man's specific motivations for acting in this way are yet unknown.

Emergency services quickly came when the lawyer intervened, giving the guy in his twenties vital first assistance. After that, he was brought to Rabat's Ibn Sina Hospital, where he is now getting medical attention and is anticipated to make a full recovery.

The young guy, who is originally from Salé, was reportedly dealing with serious family problems, especially with his drug addiction, which caused his father to kick him out of the family home.

More investigations are underway, but authorities have determined that the event had nothing to do with any kind of political demonstration.
