ALBAWABA - A video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) went viral for capturing an unusual event in the New York subway. Many people flooded two train cars to celebrate Thanksgiving, featuring a large feast.

By the time of reporting, the video shared on X by Ukrainian-American journalist Oliya Scootercaster had garnered more than 100,000 views, sparking mixed reactions from social media users. While many viewed the event as heartwarming, kind, and part of New York culture, others described it as a "gross spectacle" and "chaotic."

People on board were captured passing around Turkey and other popular Thanksgiving food options. The train cars also had decorations all over to celebrate the event.

A social media user wrote on X, "This spontaneous gathering highlights NYC traditions of pop-up public meals, fostering the culture of sharing and solidarity."

Another added, "See, there is good in this world. Hats off to all of them!"

However, not all comments were positive. Another X user wrote, "I got sick just watching this." Someone else outlined, "Because the MTA subway system doesn't have enough rats."

According to journalist Oliya Scootercaster, the event happens annually. She shared another video showing many New Yorkers entering the subway to celebrate Thanksgiving, as numerous people played music and danced.
