ALBAWABA - The story of  U.S. conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who is a close ally of President Donald Trump, has been trending on social media, as more details continue to be released by the American authorities. 

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at a speaking event at Utah Valley University. The attacker is still on the run; in addition, an investigation was launched by the FBI to identify and arrest the shooter.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said two suspects were held, and released later on.

A new slow-motion video was shared on social media, allegedly showing the shooter of Charlie Kirk running on a roof after committing his crime.

In the clip, a person was spotted on a building's roof, and he was seen running after the attack.

In another footage that was widely shared on X, a person was seen lying on a roof in the middle of the day, allegedly before the Charlie Kirk speaking event began.

Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, comment on Charlie Kirk's death:

Donald Trump, President of the United States, mourned in a statement video from the Oval Office the killing of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

Trump posted a touchable messege mourning the death of his ally Charlie Kirk and praying God to give strength to his family. Trump said that the death of the right-wing political activist is considered a "dark moment for America".

"Radical left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives. Tonight, I ask all Americans to commit themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk lived and died," Trump added.

Furthermore, U.S. First Lady Melania expressed her grief on Wednesday for Kirk's two young kids, calling for more "compassionate awareness".
