ALBAWABA - Last month, Coca-Cola went viral across social media after not allowing the word "Jesus" on their custom cans but green lighting phrases like "Praise Satan" and "Allah," making the hashtag #BoycottCocaCola trending on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter).

A user named Don Lucre wrote quoting Americans that "they won't let you personalize a can with "Jesus" but allows Satan, Allah, and all of the Babylonian Gods and demons."

Despite claims from users on social media, Reuters launched an investigation into the matter at hand that said that Coca-Cola doesn't allow any religious names on its custom cans including "Jesus" and "God loves you".

The company responded to Reuters via email and said in a statement, that Coca-Cola "does not approve names or phrases that are religious in nature or are for political candidates, trademarks, or celebrities".

Furthermore, the website has also prevented users from using "Allah" as well after receiving backlash from Christians on social media calling the company for its "Doube standards".

Lastly, Reuters deemed the statements about Coca-Cola not supporting its Christian customers as False.

Coca-Cola has been facing other boycott calls in the Middle East due to being part of the products and services linked to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of more than 41,495 Palestinians and at least  96,006 injured.

Moreover, the company recently had to stop production for its Spiced flavor amid low requests from customers, only six months after its release. It was made to target Gen Z people but the marketing campaign failed, therefore, the company decided to stop producing the new flavor.
