ALBAWABA - A shocking video has caused wide anger among the Turkish community and women's rights activists in particular after a man shot his former wife to death inside a private hospital in the Yamaçtepe neighborhood in Gaziantep.
A Turkish man, identified as Atilla Ayıntaplı, committed his crime in cold-blooded murder as he was captured on video entering the building and killing his ex-wife, named Eser Karaca, who works as a medical secretary in the hospital.
It is worth noting that Atilla Ayıntaplı, 44, obtained a restraining order against her on the same day of the murder, and before he gained another three restraining orders. Now he is facing life imprisonment for "premeditated murder against his ex-wife" and up to 7 years in prison for "threatening with a gun," Local media in Turkey reported on Wednesday.

Hurriyet news outlet detailed that the crime happened on May 21, 2025, but reportedly, the footage was released recently. Allegedly, the Turkish man entered the hospital where Eser Karaca, whom he divorced four months ago, worked and entered her room, carrying a pump-action shotgun he had hidden in a bag.
When he took out the gun, Karaca and her colleague Ç.A. ran out of the room to save their lives. However, Ayıntaplı ran after his ex-wife with a rifle, then he caught her on the stairs and fired three shots before fleeing the scene.
