ALBAWABA - A substance which was pictured on the table of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sparked wide controversy and triggered the attention of activists, but what is it?

A medical-like small bottle was seen near the president of Ukraine, drawing massive debate on social media about its origin and what it is used for, with various conspiracy theories emerging as well.

What is the substance on Zelensky's table?

Journalist Anatolij Sharij, who is known for being anti-Zelensky, posted photos of the Ukrainian president next to the substance and allegedly claimed that the drops are common among "cocaine users", accusing Zelensky of being a "drug addict".

He wrote, "The drug on Zelensky’s table is 'Mili Nosik' drops," adding, "This drug is well known and extremely popular among cocaine users; they explicitly recommend it because it is very convenient — it is not dripped into the nose, but into the mouth."

Anatolij Sharij maintained, "These are children's drops with phenylephrine — a sympathomimetic aminophylline-type substance that causes constriction of blood vessels in the nose. Constriction of the blood vessels reduces blood filling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa and thus causes a prolonged reduction in the severity of its swelling."

He further said, "Swelling occurs both from chronic rhinitis and from the use, by nasal inhalation, of substances of Venezuelan origin."

According to Suzirya, a Ukrainian pharmaceutical/medical website, Mili Nosik is the name of a medicinal product — specifically a combination medicine in the form of oral drops used to help relieve symptoms of colds and upper respiratory issues like runny or blocked nose and allergic symptoms.

This is not the first time Zelensky has been accused of being a drug user; earlier, he was accused several times since the start of the war between Kyiv and Moscow.
