Shock in Israel: Leaked audio links Sara Netanyahu to sensitive information leak
Sara Netanyahu (L), wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arrives for a hearing with her husband (unseen) at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion on January 23, 2023. The Netanyahus were invited to testify in court in a defamation lawsuit filed by his lawyer David Shimron against David Artzi, who claimed to have seen a written and signed contract between the Netanyahus which obliges Benjamin Netanyahu to give his wife Sara the authority to appoint sensitive positions in the Israeli security system and Israeli politics. ALBAWABA - A leaked audio recording has led to a growing political and security scandal in Israel. It is said to show that Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was involved in a very serious security breach.

The Hebrew site "Hadashot B'Zman" published the news that the Israeli military and the IDF Information Security Unit both hid the case to protect her.

The leaked recording is said to show a private conversation between high-ranking Israeli military officers that took place a day before the Prime Minister's Office publicly denied that any leaks had taken place.  Even though the information was sensitive, no details were sent to the authorities in charge of the investigation, which makes people think there was a cover-up on purpose.

The report says that Sara Netanyahu and a few unnamed associates are said to have shared secret security information with people they knew well.  The leaked information includes warnings about possible Iranian missile attacks and instructions to build shelters ahead of time. It also includes claims of intelligence about the planned assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah before the operation took place.  The recording also talks about other high-level security operations that were said to have been talked about in private.

The revelations have caused a lot of fear and confusion in Israel's security establishment.  Some officials have denied the claims, calling them lies, while others have said they are upset about how hard it is to get information and hold people accountable.  It is said that military censorship officials and the Interior Ministry knew about strange leaks for years but did not start a formal investigation or file complaints with the police.

The Hebrew media calls the scandal "The Insane Case," and it is making political tensions in Israel worse. It raises questions about security failures, possible misuse of classified information, and efforts by institutions to stop an investigation.  The leaked recording has made people pay more attention to the Prime Minister's inner circle and how they handle sensitive national security issues. This has led to calls for independent investigations into the matter.
