ALBAWABA - Tatarstan's city, Kazan, is home to an aircraft manufacturing that was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin. After his visit, he took off on a test flight in Russia's newest, nuclear-capable strategic bomber aircraft.
President Putin arrived in Kazan with his group, and together they toured the upgraded TU-160 M bomber aircraft at the factory.
The TU-160 M is a platform for aerial missiles, including those with nuclear warheads, and is a representation of Russia's state-of-the-art supersonic heavy strategic bomber aircraft. President Putin used the occasion to look inside one of the recently produced TU-160s.
Then he took the plane out for a test flight, spending about half an hour in the air. Rustam Minnikhanov, the leader of Tatarstan, and Sergey Shoigu, the defense minister, accompanied the Russian leader on the flight.
Putin's Bomber Aircraft Flight
President Putin has flown war planes before. This is not it. Putin demonstrated his piloting prowess and knowledge with aerial maneuvers in March 2000 when he flew an SU-27 fighter plane from Krasnodar to Chechnya and back while acting as president.
