ALBAWABA - A Pakistan Airlines ad advertising tourism for France recently made headlines due to showcasing one of the aviation company's planes heading towards the Eiffel Tower, sparking debate as social media users likened the poster to New York's 9/11 incident in 2001.
The ad in question which had "Paris, we're coming today" written on it, was promoted to celebrate and advertise Pakistan Airlines' renewal of flights to France.
According to BBC, the image was viewed more than 21 million times on Musk's X in the past couple of days due to posts about it swarming the social media platform.

Photos of the poster swarmed several social media platforms including Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter), sparking criticism and hilarious comments from users on X. Here's what some social media users had to say about the matter:

"I don’t care what you say, this Pakistan Airlines ad is fire."
A user on Musk's X compared the controversial poster to another advertising poster Pakistan Airlines promoted in 1979 showcasing The Twin Towers in New York City with a shadow of an airplane going towards them. The individual further joked that it might be the same designer still at work.
The September 11 attacks (best known as 9/11) which took place in New York City in 2001, were four consecutive attacks commenced by Al-Qaeda, which had 19 members of the group hijack four commercial airliners belonging to the US, crashing the first two into the Twin Towers, another to the Pentagon and the last in a rural area in Pennsylvania.
By the time of writing this article, the aviation company has yet to respond to criticisms made about its recent ad.
