ALBAWABA - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a person who documented and took videos of the Iranian drone and missile attacks on the country.

Iran launched Tuesday overnight drone and missile attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait. Tehran also targeted Kuwait International Airport, causing serious facility damage and leading to the killing of one person and the injury of 63 others.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a statement on Wednesday reading, "Kuwait expresses strongest condemnation of the blatant and ongoing Iranian attacks using ballistic missiles and drones, the latest of which occurred this morning. These attacks once again targeted civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to others, as well as damage to vital infrastructure, including diplomatic missions."

Ministry of Interior released a statement confirming the detention of one person over their posts online regarding the attack on the Gulf country. It said, "As part of ongoing monitoring of social media platforms, the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior apprehended a user of an account on a social media site after observing him filming and posting videos depicting air defenses engaging several missiles. This violation is likely to harm public interest and security and safety requirements."

"It was also discovered that he used his mobile phone to film while driving, which resulted in a traffic accident. This constitutes a violation of applicable laws and regulations. The Ministry emphasizes that publishing or circulating any images or videos related to military or security sites, or field response and readiness procedures, is irresponsible behavior that could harm the public interest. It stresses that it will not hesitate to take firm legal action against violators," the statement continued.

The Ministry of Interior reiterates its call to citizens and residents to adhere to the issued regulations and instructions, affirming that the law will be strictly enforced against anyone found to have violated or disregarded these instructions, especially given the exceptional circumstances the country and the region are experiencing.
