ALBAWABA - Controversy regarding the birth gender of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, is still a saucy topic taking the internet by storm and dividing opinions.
French journalist Xavier Poussard uncovered in an interview with American journalist Candace Owens a new photo claiming it proves that Brigitte Macron was a male and underwent transgender surgery.
Poussard also claimed that the French media has manipulated the public and hid the secret for years. He shared the clip on his X account and wrote: "Total failure for Patrice Faure, the chief of staff of the Elysee and the military office of Emmanuel Macron who thought they had achieved my professional, economic, and perhaps even physical death, by shaking up the main shareholder of the newspaper I held up for 9 years."

"Becoming Brigitte" is an investigating series on YouTube consisting of a number of episodes where American journalist Candace Owens and Xavier Poussard investigate the life, background and birth gender of Brigitte Macron, accusing the French media of gaslighting people into accepting a "fabricated narrative about her marriage to President Emmanuel Macron."
During their investigation series, the French journalist uncovered a photo he obtained reportedly saying it belonged to the person (man), 18, before he turned to Brigitte Macron and changed his gender.

Xavier Poussard said the photo of the person, who was identified as "Jean-Michel Trogneux", an 18-year-old man. He said in the interview "There's no room for doubts, we have the directory, we have the list which certifies, it is indeed the same individual."
He also pointed out key facial features and "distinctive signs" (notably highlighting similarities of areas below the mouth and another mole or pimple on the right side next to the mouth) allegedly claiming that the man known as "Jean-Michel Trogneux" and Brigitte Macron are the same person.
After the release of the broadcast that has a photo claiming Macron's wife is a transgender woman, thousands of comments flooded social media. A person wrote: "It’s all very shocking to believe Emmanuel Macron got away with lying to France about his wife’s gender. Until Xavier Poussard shows this photo. I was blown away. Bridgette Macron is a man."

French President denied Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman
After years of misleading accusations regarding the birth gender of his wife Brigitte Macron, 70, Emmanuel Macron, 40, broke his silence in March 2024 and denied all the allegations against his wife.
Prominent American conservative commentator Candace Owens attacked France's first lady in a now-deleted YouTube clip she shared on March 11, 2022, weeks before the French presidential election.
Emmanuel addressed the rumors against his wife on International Women's Day, saying, "The worst thing is false information". He added: "People eventually believe them and disturb you, even in your private life."
Furthermore, not only Emmanuel Macron, Brigitte’s daughter, attorney Tiphaine Auzaine said regarding allegations against her mother: "I have concerns about the level of society when I hear what is circulating on social networks about my mother being a man," according to the New York Post.
Macron met his wife when she was his teacher and he was still a teenager.
When did the rumor about Brigitte Macron's birth gender start?
According to French media, a defamation lawsuit was filed against two French women, who appeared in a YouTube video claiming that Brigitte was born in 1953 as a boy under the name "Jean-Michel Trogneux," who is in fact Brigitte Macron's brother.
In 2021, Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey shared the four-hour video on YouTube, and years later, they were persecuted by a court in Normandy city for sharing the allegation against Brigitte Macron.
In 2024, BBC reported that the two French women who falsely claimed that the country's first lady was transgender women have been found guilty of slander by the court. They were ordered to pay €8,000 ($8,859) in damages to Brigitte Macron, and €5,000 ($5,225) to her brother Jean-Michel Trogneux.
