ALBAWABA - A former prime minister of the United Kingdom named Liz Truss has made some shocking claims, claiming that the "British deep state" prevented her from implementing her agenda to "take back control."

Truss, who was only in office for 49 days, blamed bureaucratic meddling and institutional resistance when she spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, USA.

According to Truss, there was a lot of resistance to her attempts to boost growth and enhance government services. She asserted that her attempts to lower taxes and tackle the issues surrounding Brexit were confronted with strong resistance, mostly from within the government.

Referring to what Truss calls "quangos," bureaucratic entities, and legal institutions, she contended that control has been steadily slipping away from elected leaders over the last 30 years. In her view, these have done little to address the concerns or demands of average residents and have instead served to solidify the current system.

The term "quango," as Truss clarified, is short for quasi-autonomous non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have a lot of sway over British politics. She named the Bank of England and the Office for Budget Responsibility as two of these institutions that, in her opinion, put power and control ahead of public needs.

The words made by Truss illuminate a divisive topic in British politics, prompting inquiries about the level of bureaucratic power and the difficulties encountered by elected representatives while attempting to execute their programs.
