ALBAWABA - Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has removed many tweets from his X platform that openly attacked former US President Donald Trump, igniting a new round of public spats between two of America's most prominent personalities.
One of the controversial charges in the tweets, which were released late Thursday, connected Trump to the controversy surrounding the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
A tweet from Musk claiming that Trump's name was included in papers pertaining to Epstein now redirects to a blank website, indicating that it has been deleted. According to the article, certain Epstein files were not disclosed because of this purported relationship.
Following a heated dispute over Trump's newly proposed tax and budget reduction package, the public backlash intensified. Musk vehemently denounced the law, calling it a "heinous evil," and warned that it would considerably increase the nation's debt, which now stands at over $36 trillion, while Trump applauded it.
Trump told reporters he was "deeply disappointed" with Musk after first choosing not to comment. Trump said, "We had a great relationship." "I don't think we do anymore."
The argument swiftly shifted online, with both men teasing one other on their own platforms—Musson via X and Trump via Truth Social. Musk, who allegedly spent $300 million backing Trump and other Republicans in the most recent elections, stated in one since-deleted post: "Trump would've lost without me."
Additionally, the erased texts implied—without proof—that Trump was connected to Epstein, a notorious banker who passed away in prison in 2019 while awaiting prosecution for sex trafficking. Musk said in his writings that Trump was hiding his relationship with Epstein.
The dispute arises in the midst of continuous conjecture over Musk's political clout and his function in influencing public opinion by owning X. Musk's allegations and the removed postings have not yet received a response from the White House or the Trump campaign.
The two men's relationship has changed from friendly to combative in recent months, and this most recent instance adds to an increasing number of public altercations between them.
