Israel's prime minister on Monday said he had briefed the Egyptian president on plans to resume Mideast peace talks in the coming days. According to the AP, a statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave few details about his 90-minute meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

According to the Israeli leader, the talks on Monday were "constructive" and took place in a good atmosphere.

Netanyahu flew to Egypt to update Mubarak on preparations for the beginning of indirect U.S.-brokered peace talks with the Palestinians.
