Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh denounced what he said was a plot to sabotage his country and defended his security cooperation with the United States in the war against terror, the official SABA news agency reported.
"There are several challenges that the security forces must confront with firmness to thwart a sabotage plot in the provinces of Shabwa, Marib and Al-Jouf" in northern Yemen, Saleh said in a meeting in Yemen's capital with the country's security and armed forces.
Saleh defended Yemen's cooperation with the United States, notably the presence of US military advisors in the country to train and advise government forces in battling "terrorism" in the country. "Cooperation with the United States does not mean any concessions on the security, the sovereignty or the independence of the homeland," Saleh said.
He stressed the cooperation would benefit Yemen. "There will not be any development without security and stability," he said. (Albawaba.com)
