Six followers of Hussein Badruddin al-Houthi were detained in Saada province Friday evening, a security source said in a statemen, quoted by SABA news agency.

The arrests took to 49 the number of arrested supporters of al-Houthi, said the sources, adding that "they are being investigated to bring them to justice."

Meanwhile, the sources said that tribal and political figures would begin a mediation with al-Houthi to convince him to surrender.

The mediation delegation would include al-Houthi's brother, Yahya, a member of parliament, said the source.

Another source said that authorities received information that a group of Yemeni Jews in Sadah had helped the al-Houthi. The source added that "the Jews cooperated with al-Houthi in his rebellion against the government."

The Jews had shattered the drinking water network in the area where many of the security forces are positioned.
