Yemen Receives $637 Aid in 2000

It was reported that Yemen has received during the last year a financial assistance worth about $637 million from regional and international donors.  

Deputy minister of planning and international development Hesham Sharaf Abdullah was quoted by Xinhua News Agency as saying that “21 percent of the international financial support, were between $100 and $120 million, takes the forms of grant and aid.” 

He said Yemen hopes that international donations will be increased to between $160 and $200 million, and that soft loans from regional and international funding institutions will rise to $200-380 million as of 2002 – Albawaba.com
