Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Sunday that he would not nominate himself for the coming presidential elections. President Saleh made this announcement during a reception for heads of political parties and diplomats on marking 27 years of electing him as President for Yemen.
According to SABA, the Yemeni leader called on political parties, including the ruling General People Congress party, to find young leaders to compete in the elections. Yemen's presidential elections are expected in 2006.
