Yemen participates in millennium conference

Yemen is to participate in the millennium conference organized by the Arab League in Cairo in June 28-30 by Arab league in cooperation with UN, according to SABA.

The deputy planning and international cooperation minister for development sector Motahar Al-Abasi said that the conference would come in the framework of other regional conferences to prepare the International Millennium Summit that will be held in New York next September.

He said that Yemen has an advanced experience of methodological evaluation of development demands so that it could take positive steps towards the millennium goals.

He said that the conference would discuss struggling poverty, hunger, sustainable development, water scarcity and healthcare services as focal goals.
