Yemen arrests antiquities smuggling gang led by Jordanian citizen

In cooperation with the administration of protecting antiquities, Yemeni police have managed to arrest five-member gang active in smuggling Yemeni antiquities, a media report said Thursday.

 

According to <i>26 September</i> weekly, police seized an amount of golden statues and other antiquities with in possession of the gang.

 

Colonel Hisham al-Ghazali, director of the interior ministry's counter-terrorism department told the paper that the arrest came within efforts of the ministry to combat smuggling antiquities, adding that the gang was headed by a Jordanian citizen called Samir Jadallah.
