Xerox, the worlds’ leading manufacturer of document management and colour solutions, experienced a very successful Gulf Print ’05. At the event, Xerox announced the first installation of iGen3 in the ME region that took place in Dubai, took the prize for best stand (presented to Ayman Mattar by Ahmed Bin Al-Shaikh, Chairman DCCI Print & Publishing Group and Mrs Virginia Kern, Chairman, Fairs & Exhibitions) and signed US$250,000 worth of deals.
“For Xerox in the ME this was a milestone and illustrates that the region is experiencing the same printing demands as other parts of the world. More and more businesses in this market are recognizing the short and long-term benefits of investing in high-end digital printing technology and are choosing to do so with Xerox,” said Ayman Mattar, Regional Marketing Manager – Xerox Middle East.
At Gulf Print, Xerox highlighted their range of high end printing technologies introducing new additions to their Xerox DocuColour and Xerox Nuvera families - the DocuColour 8000 and 250 and the Nuvera 120 (the new platform of Production monochrome publishing and printing systems)- along with their expanded portfolio of workflow tools, FreeFlow. Xerox boasts the largest portfolio of digital colour and monochrome technologies both globally and regionally.
Xerox, a leader in the field of high end printing, has been working closely with the print industry for many years, innovating and developing solutions that meet their specific printing & workflow demands.
Xerox demonstrated various aspects of the printing process and how effective Xerox solutions are in terms of variable, short-run, print-on-demand requirements, with the daily production of the show newsletter on the DocuColour 8000 product located on Xerox’s 140 square meter stand. Over 3,000 of the daily newsletter were printed and distributed to customers and exhibitors during the show.
“This was a great opportunity to actually demonstrate the capabilities of the Xerox solutions in a real time environment using a time sensitive, short run situation such as the printing and production of the show daily – The Daily Printer,” added Mattar.
Xerox also conducted a number of presentations on how the “New Business of Printing” could boost profits and productivity for businesses with short run, print on demand applications and streamlined workflow.
Gulf Print ‘05 saw a 40% jump in exhibitor participation this year. This along with the recent announcements detailing the success of the Dubai Holdings International Media Production Zone mirrors Xerox’s forecast that the print sector in the region will continue to experience growth going into the future.
“We wanted to aggressively position Xerox as the leader in the new business of printing, we wanted to demonstrate why Xerox has solutions that can boost profits and productivity for customers as well as providing flexibility for short run and customized print on demand requests. Gulf Print provided us with the ideal platform to do so,” concluded Mattar.
Xerox celebrated their success at the show by thanking their partners in the region for their support. The event was rounded off for Xerox in the same vein when they were adjudged to have the Best Stand @ Gulf Print ‘05”!
