Israel has denied three future Palestinian ministers entry to the West Bank, according to AFP.
Major General Yoav Mordechai, head of Israel’s military administration in the Palestinian territories, informed Palestinians Sunday that they would be prohibited from entering the West Bank from Gaza.
This comes as Hamas and Fatah prepare to announce their new unity government on Monday, reports AFP.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel has informed him that they will boycott this unity government.
“Israel wants to punish us because we have agreed with Hamas on this government,” Abbas said.
The Hamas-Fatah peace deal that began in April is ending years of strife between the two Palestinian factions. Israel has refused to negotiate with a Palestinian government that includes Hamas.
