ALBAWABA - An Israeli public television station showed a dramatic video of a brave Palestinian resistance fighter attacking an Israeli military car in northern Gaza by himself. The fighter can be seen running at the stopped car, throwing explosives inside it, and then running away without getting hurt.
Right after the attack, fires quickly spread from the car to the surrounding area, filling it with thick black smoke. Israeli news outlets say the video shows a larger operation in which Palestinian fighters attacked Israeli troops in the northern Gaza Strip. One of the fighters is said to have fired an RPG at the vehicle.
Meanwhile, more reports said that Palestinian armed men came out of caves and fought fiercely with Israeli troops in Khan Younis, which is in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
In a different well-known event, a Hamas member from the Al-Qassam Brigades broke into an Israeli military zone that was heavily guarded in Khan Younis. The fighter got on top of an armored personnel carrier and threw an explosive called a "Shawaz" into the cockpit before running away. There were seven Israeli troops killed in that ambush.
These attacks are part of a larger rise in operations by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. Groups in Khan Younis, Shuja'iyya, and Jabalia are all targeting Israeli troops. Israeli troops have been killed and hurt in the operations, which is a major escalation in the war that is already going on.
