The state-of-the-art online solutions from Waseel, the first medical insurance ASP (Application Service Provider) serving the Saudi Arabian and Gulf region, has met with tremendous success in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with about 115 medical institutions adopting the solutions to facilitate electronic transactions.

Waseel offers a wide range of advanced solutions that automate various healthcare insurance functions such as eligibility verification, approval and inquiry, and claim submission and tracking. Waseel solutions are designed to facilitate easy interaction between medical facilities and clients, and aim to eliminate time-consuming paperwork and reduce costs. Traditional claims preparation and processing consumes a lot of time and effort from both providers and clients, leading to disputes, delays and rejections.

“Waseel claim submission services allow providers and customers to overcome the challenges inherent to tedious, error-prone and slow manual claims submission that lacks tracking history and status reports and requires lengthy time periods for claims reimbursement," said Riyadh Bajodah, Waseel Business Development director.

“The growing number of healthcare providers and insurance companies adopting our solutions to streamline operations and provide faster service to customers is reflective of the market credibility Waseel has attained within a short period of time,” he added.

Waseel remains committed to establishing Internet-based connectivity, information services and business-to-business capabilities for the healthcare insurance market. Healthcare providers using Waseel solutions stand to gain from reduced overall administrative costs, faster payment, and overall service quality improvement. The solutions help eliminate claims for invalid cards or exhausted limits, and ensure up-to-date monitoring of claims and payment status.

Abdulfattah Hassanain, Chief Operating Officer, Saudi German Hospitals Group, said, "Establishing a robust electronic claims system is an accomplishment in itself. The system facilitates and speeds up inquiries and follow-ups tremendously, thus helping to prevent, or expediently resolve disagreements. Another great feature is the simplicity and efficiency of the collections process. This significant improvement in our communications with insurance companies allows us to look forward to more successful and fruitful relations. Waseel’s benefits multiply with the increasing number of participating firm, leading to ripple efficiency effect generating network economies of scale.”

Waseel has of late been gaining wide appreciation for bringing about a transformation in the regional healthcare insurance sector through its electronic services. In acknowledgement of its efforts, Waseel was honored with the “Best Technological Innovation in Healthcare” award at the 2004 Middle East Arab Health Awards held during the 29th Arab Health Conference in Dubai.
