ALBAWABA - A video of U.S. President Donald Trump in an interview with ABC that showed his "quick-witted" and ungainly reaction to the presenter when he questioned whether Trump trusted Russian President Vladimir Putin went viral on social media.
Former US President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on Russian President Vladimir Putin and the current crisis in Ukraine in a televised interview. He made a number of noteworthy statements on peace, trust, and Putin's goals.
The journalist questioned Trump directly whether he thought Putin wanted peace, to which Trump said, "I believe he does, absolutely." The presenter persisted, however, bringing up Russia's ongoing missile strikes on Ukraine. Although Trump said that Putin's "dream was to take over all of Ukraine," he maintained that he did not think Putin would have followed through on that goal under Trump's leadership.

After then, the conversation turned to trust. In a direct response to the question, "Do you trust him (Putin)?" Trump said, "I don't trust you, I don't trust many people." Refocusing attention on the interviewer, whom he referred to as Barry, Trump denounced the questions as "fictitious."
Trump went on: "You're not telling the truth... Although I don't trust many people, I believe that Putin respects me and that I will prevent him from assuming total control. However, his option and choice would have been to annex all of Ukraine, and this is an unnecessary conflict."
Trump went on: "You're not telling the truth... I don't trust many people, but I think Putin respects me and that he won't take over everything because of me. However, he would have made the decision to annex all of Ukraine, and this is a conflict that shouldn't have occurred."
Activists on the "X" platform shared the video widely. "Call emergency services, there's a murder in this interview," one of them said in English, alluding to the notion that Trump's response was pivotal.
