ALBAWABA - A fire erupted inside a hostel in the Russian capital, leaving at least six people injured on Monday, local media reported.
The flames reportedly spread rapidly across about 80 square metres, RT revealed on Monday. Videos were shared online showing people jumping from the 4th-floor windows in an attempt to save their lives.
Emergency services were called to the fire scene, and after a while, the blaze was brought under control.
Some guests trapped in the fire were seen using bedsheets in an attempt to use them as rope to escape the fire.
According to Russian media, the smoke had filled corridors and rooms, leaving little time for people to escape.
The Russian authorities have opened a probe to determine the cause of the fire inside the hostel in Moscow.
